Weiss Robotics GRIPKIT LS

The Weiss Robotics GRIPKIT LS is an intelligent, servo-electric gripping solution designed specifically for laboratory and life science automation. With a generous stroke of 50 mm and a finely adjustable gripping force ranging from 6 to 40 N, it enables the high-precision and safe handling of sensitive samples. Thanks to its compact design and direct connection to the cobot’s tool I/O port, the system can be easily integrated into existing laboratory processes without the need for cumbersome external cabling. The polished, control-side sealed housing also meets the highest standards for hygiene and ease of cleaning in sensitive work environments.

50 mm gripping stroke – flexible for all types of samples
The wide range of motion, which can be dynamically adjusted via software, enables the reliable handling of sample containers of various sizes using a single gripping module.
Wireless integration via Tool-I/O
The gripper attached directly to the cobot's wrist. Its sleek design minimizes protrusions and simplifies mechanical integration in a laboratory setting.
FLEXGRIP technology for seamless control
The integrated FLEXGRIP software enables direct Modbus communication with the robot controller, making it easy to define the gripper’s working range and force in the sequence program.

Description

With the GRIPKIT LS, Weiss Robotics is expanding its portfolio to include a high-end mechatronic gripping module for modern laboratory automation. At the heart of this compact servo gripper is the innovative FLEXGRIP technology: It ensures that both the position of the gripping jaws and the applied force can be precisely adjusted to the specific sample and container size. This effectively eliminates the risk of damage to fragile samples or glass vials. The mechanical design is specifically tailored for sterile and high-cleanliness applications. The polished housing has minimal edges where dirt can accumulate, is easy to disinfect, and withstands the demanding conditions of the life sciences industry over the long term. With a net weight of just 480 g, the gripper places gripper load on the robot but can move objects weighing up to 1.5 kg with absolute reliability through form-fit gripping. Thanks to native support from leading cobot manufacturers—such as Universal Robots, Fanuc CRX, and Neura Robotics—implementation is a breeze. The GRIPKIT LS is thus the ideal plug-and-play solution for automated pipetting, sample sorting, or loading analytical instruments.
